The University is on the doorstep of Wivenhoe. Many residents of Wivenhoe either work or study there. Those who do so are much more conscious of the University and all that is happening there.
The University has always welcomed residents onto its 200 acre campus, whether to enjoy a stroll in the grounds, use the sports facilities, attend public lectures or performances in the University Lakeside Theatre.
There is much happening at the University, and not just for its 6,500 students.
