December 2006 – Tempest FC In New Kit After Sponsorship Boost

Tempest FC’s under 11’s football team based at Broad Lane Sports Ground, has received a cash boost from Bryant Homes which has enabled them to purchase a new kit for the whole team.

Bryant Homes, who are building the Cooks Shipyard development, agreed to be the team’s sponsor from 2006 – 2008 after hearing about their achievements from members of the local community. The £1000 sponsorship per season will enable the coaches of Tempest FC to provide new tracksuits and rain jackets for the whole team.

Sara Stanhope, senior sales manager for Bryant Homes, said: “I found out about Tempest FC through our homes consultants who are based at the marketing suite in Wivenhoe. They told me how great the team were and asked whether there was any way we could help support them. We were keen to get involved with the local community so were only too happy to sponsor them – it’s great that they have been able to buy a new kit for the whole team and I’m sure the boys will do us proud this season. “

Costa Olymbios, assistant coach for Tempest FC, adds: “We are delighted with the sponsorship from Bryant Homes and amazed that such a large company would take an interest in us. The boys feel extremely special that they have been sponsored and there’s a real buzz throughout the whole team. Every year we worry about finding the finance to provide kit, so this is a fantastic gesture that will give the boys pride and allow them concentrate on the game that they love to play.”

Tempest FC are a team to be reckoned with and are currently top of the league with five wins and a 73-goal difference. The team is made up of boys from Wivenhoe, Great Bentley, Elmstead Market, Colchester and Great Horksley.
