March 2008 – The S.Y. Rosabelle

Theodore Pim of Snowdenham Hall, Bramley, Surrey was the owner of 5 vessels all called Rosabelle which he kept at Wivenhoe for a period of 54 years in total. He died in 1929. The last of his yachts was bought Colonel Abraham who kept her at the river wall where quite a few yachts were moored. She remained there until the Second World War.

Today the name Rosabelle has been remembered by having the name given to a road off The Avenue, Wivenhoe.
