The Club was founded in 1926 and has occupied its present premises (which it owns) in Woodland Way since 1934.
The Club is open to all ages, both male and female, and includes playing and associate members. The latter are encouraged and expected to take up the game within three years of joining. Tuition is free.
There are 6 rinks, a large car park, and a clubhouse which will seat about 60 people for meals; also changing rooms for male and females, and a good kitchen and bar.
The Club is affiliated to the English Bowling Association, English Women’s Bowling Association, Tendring Hundred and District Bowling Association and Essex County Group One.
The TH&DBA has 11 clubs in its Association, 10 of which play in Group One. WBC members play in National, County, Group One, TH&DBA, Club Competitions, and mixed friendlies throughout the year.
During the closed season, the Club is open for social activities. all members are expected to take an active part in running the Club which includes bar, catering, cleaning, green, grounds and maintenance.
There is a joining fee and an annual subscription.
