Wivenhoe Neighbourhood Action Panel (NAP)

See important notice on this page

Neighbourhood Action Panels (NAPs) was an initiative led by Essex Police - Eastern Division in partnership with the Colchester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CCDRP) and Colchester Borough Council. Each NAP consists of representatives from the local community, residentsí associations, children and young people, voluntary agencies, schools, faith groups, Town and Parish councillors, Colchester Borough Council, Essex County Council and other statutory groups or organisations that are best placed to make a valuable contribution to community problem solving throughout Colchester

Note the important notice on this page.  The NAPs are undergoing change which will mean a reduced involvement by the police.  In Wivenhoe, the Neighbourhood Watch has taken over from the NAP the responsibility for communication with the community.  See the NW Facebook page for more information.

If you would like to raise any local community issues this is the forum for you.

Police Priorities for Wivenhoe are:
  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Youth nuisance
  • Dog fouling
  • Graffiti

The Wivenhoe NPT want to tackle crime and quality of life issues that are effecting Wivenhoe and the University of Essex. We not only want to tackle them but we want to reduce them. We want to achieve this by making members of the public aware of incidents that have occurred and ask for their help. If you have any information regarding crime in Wivenhoe or at the University, please contact us at Wivenhoe Police Station on 101.
